Chuluut Tul 2030

The “Chuluut Tul 2030” project, started in 2019, focuses on conserving the Chuluut river valley and its native species – Hucho taimen. Hucho taimen is the biggest freshwater trout, known as the determinant of the freshwater environment. Unfortunately, due to habitat degradation caused by human activities, the Hucho taimen population has decreased to the endangered category. 

The main objective of the “Chuluut Tul 2030” project is to create the proper reproduction environment for the grayling, lenok, and small forage fishery - pray of the taimen. Since the project started, our trout hatchery has released close to 1 million swim-up fries (not taimen) to the river. We monitor the fries all year round, and their projected survival rate to adulthood is approximately 20% for now. In addition, we are fighting against illegal fishing and pollution with the help of six environmental conservation teams that we brought up together out of local communities while conducting extensive field research to study the river basin. 

We believe that the “Chuluut Tul 2030” project can inspire many people to become patriotic citizens who love and protect the natural environment.

During the EMC Student Internship Program, students will enjoy a pleasant workplace and flexible work hours and elevate their teamwork, leadership, communication, and professionalism. And the internship experience will help them craft their careers successfully by understanding their professional interests in the field.

Interns should be at least 18 years old, and applications must be made through the internship position vacancy notices posted on the "Career" page.

Safety Policy

“Eurasian Mining Contractor” LLC will operate under the laws and requirements of occupational safety, health, and hygiene to deliver healthy and safe work environments preventing hazards and risks.

We will encourage employee engagement in the implementation of the occupational health and safety management system by continuously training them in safe work methods, improving and monitoring our safety performances.

EMC is committed to the following occupational safety and health objectives:

• We will comply with integrated management system standards and Mongolian laws, rules, and regulations.
• We will identify and address the health and safety needs and goals to plan the resources, set the budget, monitor the spending, and maintain proper usage.
• We will prevent potential hazards, learn safe work conducts at all times, and create supervisors’ safety leadership.
• We will plan and conduct efficient training programs and activities to improve employees’ safety knowledge and cultivate correct safety habits.
• We will keep a health monitoring system with annual medical checkups to prevent our employees from occupational diseases.
• We will have professional organizations conduct workplace evaluations annually and maintain a safe and healthy workplace following their feedback and suggestions.
• We will sustain regular daily workplace inspections and take actions to register, eliminate, and correct revealed hazards and risks.
• We will do an internal audit for the HSE management system and plan for correctional and prevention activities for mismatches.

 

Environment Policy

“Eurasian Mining Contractor” LLC is committed to upholding the highest environmental standards in our activities, following the laws and regulations. We will use environment-friendly technologies and equipment to prevent pollutions and improve our employees’ knowledge and habits to create a clean and healthy environment.

We will keep our employees and stakeholders informed on our environmental policy and activities to monitor and minimize negative impacts from our operation on the environment.

To achieve our goals to implement an environmental management system, address critical issues at the project site, minimize pollution, electrical and water usage, we have defined the following objectives:

• We will ensure our operation in compliance with Mongolian laws and all applicable legal requirements and standards.
• We will implement an Environmental Management System that meets the requirements of MNS ISO 14001:2015 and ensure continuous improvement.
• We will continually measure and assess the environmental issues from our activities, striving to minimize and mitigate potential risks, pollutions, and waste.
• We will control and minimize our electrical usage in the office and project site, using only the necessary electricity without wasting it.
• We will minimize our operational water consumption by using water efficiently according to the technological estimation, reusing, and monitoring the underground water usage.
• We will segregate and classify our operational and domestic waste and promote the recycling industry.
• We will plan and organize educational and training activities to improve our staff's awareness and knowledge of environmental issues and protection.
• We will communicate our environmental policy and activities openly and honestly to our partners, stakeholders, clients, and the public.
• We will collaborate with local citizens, organizations, and authorities in environmental protection activities and engage in their activities.
